Named after the 10th-century castle ruins in Düsseldorf, Kaiserpfalz is dark amber in color with an off white head, marked by toasted grain aromas, light hop character and dark fruit notes that intensify as the beer warms. Appropriate malt richness is present and the finish is dry, characterized by subtle bitterness and a spicy, modest herbal hop salutation at the end.

Canned 3/25/22, drunk 8/17/22. Deep amber-caramel, rich, buttery-colored head showing strong retention. Fruity, malty, mineralesque and lightly toasty with soft herbs and no alcohol or flaw. Soft, succulent apple and strawberry. Toast, caramel and vanilla with a very deep maltiness. Light pepper and yeast acid with dried herbs and black pepper. Great balance and sticky, well-attenuated maltiness.

16 oz. can. Aroma shows pumpernickel bread, toffee, and soft spice. Tastes has earth, root beer, liquefied pumpernickel bread character. Medium and body with a fuller mouth for the style. Soft spice in the finish. Wow, this is top tier for a Düsseldorf Sticke. Awesome.
