We thought, we fought, we took votes, we did blind tastings, we did sniff tests and lab tests, color tests and speed tests. After months of conversation with our friends at Ravenna & Alvarado Street, nostalgia for the bygone days of a more see-through beer has won. This year, 3-Way IPA is a WEST COAST STYLE IPA.

2022 3-Way IPA is an explosion of juicy fruit flavors. With all the bright clarity of a West Coast IPA and a rich, smooth texture, it retains a perfect, creamy white head through all the sips.

Fort George 3-Way IPA HAZY IPA 7% This is a series I always try to get every year as I am into collaborations. 2022 is Alvarado Street x Ravenna x Fort George. Hazy straw gold with bright eggshell white foam. Hugely juicy hop bouquet with tropical notes. Medium to full bodied and a bit of a scratchy dry finish. The taste is richly fruity hops but with a strong balancing bitter undertone. There’s even a slightly floral thing going on in the aftertaste. This year’s is pretty damn stellar.

Several cans enjoyed over the July 4th weekend. Stoked to see another Seattle brewery join the party with another Cali great. Always fun to see who will be in the collab each year. Really nice hop heavy aroma with citrus and pine. Cream body with a biscuit and straw like grain and well balanced with juicy citrus and bitter, resinous pine. Another solid addition to this celebration worthy tradition at FG.

16oz can from Craft Brewers. Lightly cloudy golden pour, thin foamy white head. Aroma is malty with a light hop presence, kind of plain. Taste is grainy, biscuity with a dry hoppiness, faint citrusy notes. Underwhelming.

On tap at Apex, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of piney hops, light dankness and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is full of bright piney hops, light dankness, and crisp biscuity malt. Oily, piney finish. Excellent.
