Can to tall tulip.
Appearance: dark amber color with a finger's worth of khaki foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light messy lace
Aroma: dark fruity tones with sweet oak, some sweet almost sugary nuts, light notes of some pomme fruits, then a little bit of caramel and vanilla, sly chocolatey notes at the end
Flavor: melds the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet dark fruity to a sweet apple-y to caramel/vanilla quality; finishes slightly sticky with a little bit of sweet boozy warmth
Texture: medium bodied, leaning towards being a sipper; superb smoothness along the tongue as that stickiness noted in the finish doesn't seem to show up here
Overall: yeah, this is quite a very good Doppelbock I'm sure to have again.

Canned 1/9/23, drunk 4/8/23. Clear, deep amber-mahogany. Large, beige head shows moderate retention. Light melanoidin-like fruitiness and tartness with rich sourdough, raisin, prune, vanilla, caramel and a touch of very light oak. Clean, no alcohol or flaw noted. Soft, malty, well-attenuated, crisp on the end with interesting raisin and prune-like fruitiness. Chocolatey, but not overly so. Light oak in both texture and flavor. No alcohol or flaw.

On tap at Off Site. Pours a dark brown with small beige head. The aroma is raisin, wood, and toasted malt. Medium body, dark fruit, nutty, wood, nice dry finish, very nice.

16 oz can. Aroma is molasses, nuts, soft chocolate. Flavor is rich with melted caramel, dark bread, mild molasses, and very soft oak. Mild toasted grain. For a bock lager the body is medium plus. The amount of flavor in this lager is incredible. Awesome.

Pours deep mahogany tinged copper into a stem glass. Mocha head with good retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Dark caramel, pit fruit and brown bread aromas. Soft with hot molasses, raisins, toasted brown bread and sweet dark, dried pit fruit upfront turning to earthy, dried oak in the medium length finish.
