Bottle. Dark chestnut colour. Sourish aroma. Flavour is acidic and a little malty.

Bottled (BB 06/2006)
Ruby color and beautiful big cloudy tanned head. Sweet berries aroma (strawberry), some sweet yeasts (typical to these Urthel beers). Very carbonated mouthfeel. Sweetish with red currant juice flavor. Hints of hops in the aftertaste and a bit of licorice or something salty. Light (only 5,9 % alcohol here), almost I could say Belgium session beer.

Bottle, at Den Tatoverede Enke, Copenhagen. Sweet wort aroma, verging on "sickly". Malty sweet flavour too, not much to make me happy here.

Amber color; huge head. A truly Belgian Ale, good nutty malt, a lot of caramel, good bitter balance, some sweetness (the aroma is sweet as well) and an almost un-perceptible touch of sourness.

Very dark brown, red-brown shine, hazy. Thick yellow-brown head, slowly collapsing. Nose with dark malts, chocolate and markedly blackcurrant, whiff of chlorine. Bitter-sweet taste, licorice, a bit of caramel and other dark/roasted malts. Again blackcurrant retronasal. Medium to full bodied, no new aftertaste. Neither the best, even less the worst. A good middle-of-the-roader. De Leyerth is NOT a brewery, but a brewery-hirer. All beers are manufactured at the Van Steenberge plant. I would like their efforts even more without the Tolkien-version-kindergarten commercials around them.

Bottled. Ruby coloured with lively rich head. Lightly acidic fruity nose. Light bodied with notes of honey and caramel. Clean mouthfeel. Pleasant.

Clear dark brown color, short lasting head. Weak aroma, malts. Easy drinkable. Bit roasted malts flavor, bit licorice, roasted bacon, salami. German-like beer. Quite dry palate, but also tasteful.

A real 'pint', high foam. Little spicy aroma. Tastes like vegetables. Also sweet. Bitter-sweet palate.
