Not black, but dark brown colored. Slight roastaroma with grapes. Sweetish flavor with some caramel and roasted malt, especially in the aftertaste. Thin. Nice, but not spectacular.

Bottle. Color: Dark ruby, dense creme head. Taste: Roasted malt, lightly notes of licorice, hints of sugar. Some light hoppy notes and herbal hints. Rather dry. Overall a bit watery, below medium body.

Pours reddish brown from the bottle. The head fizzes and fades. The smell is cooked vegetables with a foul twist - reminded me of changing a drainpipe. Subdued, thankfully. The taste is lightly sour accompanied with a roasted bitterness. The dry, lightly bitter finish fades out fairly quick. Watery notes in the palate. This does not feel like a good black beer. Went to the cellar for better pickings.
