Ins Glas ergießt sich ein bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit geringer aber schönen Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht röstmalzig, Karamell, minimal würzig. Geschmack angenehm röstmalzig, würzig, gering schokoladig.

Bottle from Rewe Bamberg drunk on the train to Brussels. Clear mid brown dark amber colour lasting off white head. Not the freshest smelling beer bit of musty malt. Some fruit. Not much hop on the finish. Dullish

A dark amber to light-copper colored beer which looks excellent in the glass. Has a syrupy and almost smokey burnt caramel/butterscotch undertone, which strongly dominates every other characteristic of the beer. Decent dunkel.

Flip-top half-litre bottle BBD 4th July 2013: poured into two ’Hannan Alt’ tumblers at home on 7th June 2013. Good looking beer: toffee apple red/brown with an off-white head that tried to hang around. Semi-sweet maltiness in the aroma and taste: caramel and toffee notes coming through from the very start of the tasting. I like the sweeter brews so this was fine by me. Easy to drink and fairly well balanced: mini bitterness towards the end, but still one of the sweetest Dunkels I’ve had so far.

500ml bottle. Clear reddish amber colour with average to huge, firm, frothy to creamy, moderately lacing, off-white head. Nice dark malty aroma, slightly grainy, a touch of hay, also hints of chocolate. Taste is slightly sweet dark malty, minimally grainy, a dry husk note. Tasty.

Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass very dark, nice head. Intense malty aroma. Starts very malty, with lots of caramel, modest sweet. Soft-malty finish, still wonderful caramel and chocolate notes. Great beer!

Bottle. Deep amber with a thin head. Aroma of chocolate malt and nut. Flavour is toasted, crumbly chocolate with a roast background, dry bitterness on the palate
