4/10/2019. Cask at the 42nd Bedford Beer & Cider Festival. Pours black with a lasting beige head. Aroma of dark roasted malts, coffee, charcoal, bitter burnt chocolate, nut, burnt toffee and dark fruits. Light to moderate sweetness hidden by a powerful roasted bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Increasing sweetness to finish. Packs a punch but difficult to enjoy.

Deep dark brown color, opague. Small brown head. Slight toast aroma, roasted malt flavor. Smoky with apricot, coffee and a hint of sourness. Rather thin stout but full of flavor.

Hand-pulled cask pint on 28th Sep 2018; Crown Inn, Oakengates, Shropshire. Black bodied, tanned foaming head. Sadly I found this bland, thin and boring. Plenty of over roasted malts, but it lacked depth and flavour. First beer from these guys I haven't enjoyed.

Black beer, beige head. Light malty aroma. Taste is dry, earthy malt, some chocolate and not a hell of a lot else. Bit thin. Alright but.... meh.

Cask @ March Hare, Dunton. Colour of pure black. Smells like malt roasted into oblivion. Taste is bittersweet with a dry finish. Simple but absolutely gorgeous. Worth living in Bedfordshire for this beer.
