Dark copper colour. Rich malty aroma with some hints of dried fruits. Very malty flavour with some chocolatey notes and a light hoppy dryness in the finish.

Bottle. Nutty, bready yeast, malt aroma. Amber with a thin skiff of bubbles. Bready yeast and musty hops flavor. Light body, flat carbonation.

Bottle. Slightly sour nutty barley malt aroma. Dark amber color with thin film of head. Mild barley malt and moderately bitter herbal hops flavor. Very different - not your typical ESB.

Bottle conditioned, 500ml, best before the end of Apr 2011, drank and reviewed 18th Jan 2011. The beer was poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard: bright amber body, clear with minute bubbles rising up the beer to the impressive off-white foaming head. Some good lacing produced as the beer level sank down the tankard. The smell is malty, with hints of yeast esters and fruity hops. The taste is a nice mix of bittering hops and sweetening malts. Really well balanced, the alcohol content hardly noticed, which indicates a good beer to me. Only in the latter stages of the mouthfeel does the alcohol begin to rear its head.

Amber to orange/copper colour with a small head. Smells chemical, weird hops and whisky. Tastes salmon and tar at first, after a few sips it’s just a bitter. Good carbo, medium body.

Bottle @ Joes Tasting shared with Joes and Dutchdrebus. Clear dark copper, nice white head. Smell light hops, a weird strawberry-like sweetness. Taste sweet, light bitter, lightly fruity. Soft tingling carbonation, medium body. Pretty decent.

Bottle 500ml. @ home.Clear medium to dark amber color with a fizzy - virtually none, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity, chocolate notes, light to moderate hoppy, wood - smoke notes. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, drie berry, wood, thin. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is flat. [20110403]

Bottle from Tanners Wines, Hereford. Deep brown and slightly hazy, with a big and rocky off-white head. Aroma of stoned fruits with a yeasty edge. Flavour had some sweetish fruit, a hint of chocolate and a decent bitter finish. Unusual and ok.

Bottled. Total gusher. Amber colour, big off-white head. Aroma is mild acidic wood, some mild fruity and floral notes as well as some mild caramelly and cardboardy notes. Flavour is acidic wood, some dry earthyness as well as some mild fruity and floral notes.

Medium light beige fine-laced lasting head. Hazy opaque dark orange body with yeast particles in the bottom of the glass. Acidic caramelly, citrusy, hoppy aroma with strong strawberry-like notes. Intensely infected brett taste drowns out all else. Yuck! Need to rerate. (0.5l bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger.)
