Wotever Next? A strong, dark and bitter beer. The distinctive dry finish derives from chocolate malt, Pilgrim and Cascade hops. A long fermentation leaves little sweetness behind.

Bottle from Saucy Pears. Appearance - deep amber and cloudy. Nice head. Nose - orange and biscuits. It culminates in a kinda marmalade on toast. Taste - dry wholemeal bread. Then bitter orange. Palate - medium bodied with a dry crunchy texture that extends into the finish. Overall - there’s aroma is lovely, the taste a bit drier and overall the palate is balanced if slightly astringent on the end. Overall a decent ESB.

Bottle from Booths, MediaCityUK [181114]
Dark amber, hazy, frothy fluffy white head, good lacing
Aroma of soft fruits, marmalade orange, soft yeast, caramel, good subtle aroma
Taste of caramel, marmalade malts, soft orange, light toffee, subtle flavour but tastes very good, nice spicy bit peppery hops, some yeast, quite a complex flavour
Palate - Soft carb. medium body, smooth, soft sweet, good mouthfeel. Finish is a bit dry, good spicy bitter tail
Overall - Very good tasting bitter, good use of English hops, no twigs. Surprised by this one.

Clear amber beer, decent pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry with good fine carbonation. Light malts, mild and unsweet dark toffee turning to a smoother sweeter caramel. Floral bitter hops and dried fruits. Semi dry finish. Medium bitter linger. Not bad.

Bottle. Dark amber-red with a very thin head. There’s little pleasing about its bitter taste with only a modicum of sweetness to be found in this aspect, although it has a much better nose in this respect.

500ml bottle. Pours chestnut brown and seemed quite promising from the colour and aroma, but what taste it does have - English hops, malts and dried fruits - is simply not rich enough and seem lost in its thin, watery texture. Disappointing.
