Belgian Essence is the result of months of collaboration between two friends. This small-batch Belgian-style Tripel is a golden and brightly effervescent ale with a deceptively light body. Brewed with three simple hand-selected malts to provide a crisp, smooth and highly carbonated brew. Similar to our roots, the first hop addition is a traditional old-world style hop. The finish hops bring forth a new world twist, resulting in a fresh bright citrus finish. A fine full carbonation produces a bright white foamy cap atop the sparkling full-bodied brew.

Hazy dark gold with a three-finger head. Aroma is fruity with hints of grass. Taste is fruity, Belgium spices and a sweet finish.

I located this 12 oz bottle at Freeman’s in OKC a couple of weeks ago, did not recognize that it was a tripel at the time. Fortunate acquisition, tripels are one of my three favorite styles. Ready to receive the pour is my substantial New Belgium globe glass, oh, the irony. I see a cloudy amber-gold liquid with a nicely representative head of extremely fine, very white bubbles. I find the nose to be attractive. Yellow fruit, citrus and yeast. But I bought this brew for the drink and now I do that. Peaches, a fair amount of floral, malt, yeast again, straw and some hops influence. An easy beer to drink. Enjoyable but not great like I hoped.

12 oz bottle generously given to me by csbosox. The pour is a slightly hazed orange golden with some light splotchy lace. The aroma is herbal Belgian yeast, nice floral, leather and yeast - a bright and inviting nose. The taste is straw, grass then moves into the floral and Brett yeast character. The palate is light to medium bodied with active bright carbonation leading to a crisp dry citrus Brett finish. Very drinkable, nice one. Thanks, Chris!

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours amber gold with a moderate white head. Aroma of citrus and yeast. Med body, or nearly. Flavor is pale malt in support of floral and citrus. Pretty dry. Moderately bitter. Expected yeast/spice seems lost in the mix. Good flavor tho.

Lemon and florals. Some coriander. Golden orange pour with good head. Light tangy finish with a hint of ginger. Was hoping for something a bit better from this collab. Bottle.

12 ounce bottle. Orange amber pour is topped by a pillowy white head. Aroma is subtle sweet malt with a hint of yeast and phenolics. First sip is dry and bitter. Light bodied and clean. Highly carbonated. Bone dry throughout.

Aromas are spice, grain with a little floral. Excellent Belgian style double fermentation going on here. Fantastic frothy long-lasting head. Balanced spicy sweet up front with a fruit rind bitter finish. Really good beer.

12oz bottle, best before Jan 26, 2024, drunk July 20, 2023. Touch of haze despite my best efforts on the pour (and it having sat cold for a long time). Deep copper-bronze with a hint of cherry. Large, rocky, butter-tinted, white head showing strong retention. Soft, mellow, fruity, only a bit of white pepper and no crude crap here (bubble gum, banana, clove, etc...or very little of it). Almost creamy malts seem very deep and supportive here with plentiful biscuit and white bread. Hops are very floral, which, with the heavily perfumey/peppery phenols/esters is a bit much, but that's my only quibble. No alcohol perceived. Soft, very carbonated, good malt depth with good attenuation and only minimal breadiness from the malt. Again, crude esters/phenols are minimized with mostly a white pepper and stone fruit character from the yeast. Lingering honey, white bread, some herbal hops and more peachy-peary-appley fruitiness. Man, as much as I've come to loathe both of these breweries these days, I have to admit this is shockingly excellently done. Soft, malty, good attenuation, clean, snappy, well-carbonated and with really lovely, mellow flavors and no alcohol. With warming, some bubble gum does emerge, but it's pretty innocuous.

On tap at Barrel Republic, Carlsbad on 19th July 2023. Slight haze to the golden orange body, decent white head that tried to stay the distance. Lovely Belgian like feel to this, banana's, yeasty and boozy, my sweet tooth took to this. Wanted more, but I was on a mission!

Pour is a hazy orange with a large white head. Aroma is candi sugar, yeast esters and clover honey. Flavor is more of a honey malt, then comes the yeast kiss and the finish is a decent hoppy bitter bite. Pretty good kind of new world tripel.
