Day 5 of Beer Republic Advent calendar. Date shoes 1/21/25, I hope that was brewing and not expiration, either way it's way too old for this 2025 advent calendar. Orange color, nose is really pure Kool Aid. From the nose I can tell it's gonna be a very rare drain pour. Wow, just awful, like a cheap malt beer mixed with the cheapest vodka (alk taste is strong) and artificial punch mix. This is not a beer! Shame, beer Republic.

What a wonderful original beer. A nice IPA with a nice sweet finish. It's a great beer.

19.2 oz. can from Publix. Pours a crystal clear orange-gold color with a big khaki head and great retention. Good lacing. Sugary fruit punch aroma. You taste the alcohol first, followed by some sweet yet mellow fruit juice flavor and a little bitterness, with a warming alcohol finish. Not nearly as sweet as I expected. The fruity aroma is much stronger than the flavor. The 9.5% ABV is evident, but not as harsh as expected either. Medium-light body. Medium carbonation. Light to moderate bitterness. This falls somewhere between alco-pop and a true hazy IIPA without doing either of them well.

Cherry lifesavers aroma. Clear amber, thin head. Honey, caramel, cherry candy accents. Medium body, easy carbonation. This series is really much better than I thought it would be. Not so gimmicky, still pretty beery.

Gah. Why does this recipe keep getting made? WHy why why? Ok to be fair, this isn't as bad as the New Belgium and Victory versions I've had, but it's still pretty rough. Weird fruity nose is very much hawaiian punch. Despite the commercial description saying pink-red hue, this beer is amber gold. Nose is punch, cherry, pineapple. Flavor is similar upfront but quickly yields to a god awful malt liquor booze bomb, all grains and fusel alcohol flavors, and a lot of bitterness. Why do these breweries even keep calling these beers IPAs? It's not even in the same ballpark, not even in the same planet. Stovepipe can, Florida wawa.

19.2 oz can from Albertsons. Cloudy, dark golden pour, one finger foamy white head. Aroma is Hawaiian Punch and hard candy. Very sweet, sugary. Taste turns south, Swedish Fish, red Jolly Ranchers. Cloying, and then the high ABV hits pretty harshly. I think I liked the FourLoko version better.

Pineapple, orange, cherry, mango (Hawaiian Punch), biscuit malt, and grapefruit peel aroma. Golden yellow with giant off-white head. Very sweet pineapple, orange, mango, cherry, biscuit malt, and moderately bitter grapefruit peel flavor. Good body and balance.
Artificial sweeteners.
