Bottle. Dark brown with short lasting brown head. Red wine, oak, earthy, soft cocoa, leathery, a touch of smoke, blackberries. Medium sweet and bitter, light sour. Over medium bodied with almost tannic finish. Lots and lots of barrel notes, must have aged for a while it seems. Nice!

Bottle picked up from Belgo.de, online shop (near Wurzburg) and consumed at home Tuesday 9th May 2023 listening to Steve Lamaq on 6Music on a glorious sunny Spring Day. This was a crazy gusher, lost over half the bottle over the table, glad that I sat outside. Pours deep, dark, mahogany with barely a head to speak of, it just disappeared immediately. Fruity with some dark sticky fruits, whisky, malts,. Got to be honest, it's ok, not really doing it for me.

Fles gedeeld door PatrickdJ. Het is een troebel donkerbruin bier met een beige schuim. Het heeft een aroma van gebrand hout en whisky. De smaak is vol whisky en drop achtig.

Bottled. Hazy deep brown colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is dried dark fruits, rye bread, mild whiskey and vanilla tones. Flavour is rye bread, some dried fruits, vanilla, mild wooden and whiskey tones with some quite sugary tones.

0.33l bottle thanks to Lore. Bold smoky whisky character in this one. It's esorted by notes of nutmeg, orange zest and some bready malts. If you're down with smoky whiskies, this beer is for you.

A 330 ml bottle, my first sampling from a new retailer, Etre Gourmet. This tasting requires my Chimay glass and a proper attitude. I lift the cap slightly and, yes, it did arrive in a rush, be forewarned. Again. The pour gives a murky, dark brown body with a minimal head. The carbonation is vigorous, no surprise. I smell ripe dark fruit and something slightly sourish. The drink, ah, all is forgiven. Sticky-sweet black plums, black bread, dark raisins, malt, cereal, brown sugar and a delightful boozy presence. One might get a slow burn on the way down as I did. Bottle conditioned? It does appear so. Little indicates this will be a good brew until the tasting, but it is.
