A rich Imperial Stout, brewed to be gluten reduced for those who still like to live on the edge.

Taste: Sweet cedar wood and toasted bread jumps out first, with a decadent dose of rich dark chocolate coated in treacle. Floral manuka honey is then joined by elegant pecan and a touch of bitterness to balance before rounding out with an assertive malty backbone.

A deep dark stout with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with dark fruits, licorice, alcohol warmth, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, licorice, alcohol warmth, pretty good for a gluten free imperial stout. Bottle at Yeccan.

Zwart bier zonder schuim. Smaak is bitterzoet met iets van koffie, bittere chocolade en mokka. Mondgevoel is ietwat waterig.

Keg at The Plasterers, Norwich, Norfolk. A very dark brown coloured pour with a medium beige head that doesn't last. Roasty, malty, chocolate, caramel, dark fruit aroma and taste. Pleasant imperial stout which ought to have been a little more complex for its strength. Nice enough though.

Black beer, decent tan head. Hefty malty aroma with a little chocolate. Flavour has chocolate, toasty malt, a little lactose maybe, a bit of liquorice, brown sugar. Rich smooth and tasty with a nice toasty finish. Very solid.

pitch dark, smooth brown head. aroma is mild roasted malts, fainter notes like coffee, and fainter bitterness resembling chilies, but that's probably just my imagination. sweetish notes too, especially in the very initial impression. flavor is complex and well balanced, a very good imperial stout, on ratebeer as flavored/pastry but i don't really understand why that is, this imp stout is more dry and less sweet than many other imp stouts registered as ordinary imperial stout. Also the ingredients does not hint of pastry - nothing but malts and some special sugar acc. to label. after having a few sips i will agree there is a little bit of cake frosting to the sweet note in the beer - but that is well balanced by the chili notes, and in general the beer comes off as medium sweet to dry, compared to other imp stouts over 10%. btw. this easily stacks up against the other good black beers from pohjala - and is , of course, the very best ever gluten free imperial stout i have ever tasted with no competition. If i was allergic to gluten my liver would get killed bc of this beer.

330ml bottle picked up at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Noisy, tan head dissipating over a near-black body. Scattered lacing. Roasted malty smell, liquorice and dark bread, inviting. Well blended taste of chocolate malts, hints of liquorice, biscuit, and bread. Notes of coffee to a rounded roasted ending. Rather sweet in the long run. Decent Friday eve sipper. BD 12062019. Black, light brown head. Smells chocolaty, sweet, some light roast. Fairly light body, could be thicker. Earthy roasty at first, very salty soy sauce. Buckwheat is there. Some slight coffee, dark chocolate. All pretty good, but not great.
