A rich Imperial Stout, brewed to be gluten reduced for those who still like to live on the edge.
Taste: Sweet cedar wood and toasted bread jumps out first, with a decadent dose of rich dark chocolate coated in treacle. Floral manuka honey is then joined by elegant pecan and a touch of bitterness to balance before rounding out with an assertive malty backbone.

Bottle at home. Two year old bottle. Has a black colour colour with a small beige head. Aroma of coffee, nougat, dark chocolate truffles, roasted malt and soy sauce. Flavour of ash, coffee, licorice, and dark chocolate. Has a silky mouth feel, full body and a soft bitterness. Sweet and roasted and well-balanced.

Pohjala Gimme Danger 10.5% Gluten free imperial stout From these masters of big dark beers comes this thick pitch black pour with an ultra-fast dissipating thin deep rusty dark beige foam. The aroma is fragrant soy, dark chocolate and licorice with hints of charred smokiness. It reminds me of Dark Lord back in the day. Full bodied but with an effervescent prickly carbonation and loads of warming heat going down. I’d prefer something velvety smooth but this is hitting major winter warmer notes. The taste starts off like sweet dark chocolate syrup then gives you the bitter chocolate with savory elements and hints of smoke. I’m really digging the flavor. Overall, this beer has many layers of complexity and tastes great.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 10.5%. Pitch black colour, minimal tan head. Sweetish aroma of roast malts, chocolate, honey and treacle. Moderate to low carbonation. Medium sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma, also notes of coffee, roasted nuts and moderate bittering hops.
