From tap at Van Moll Fest 2019. Big roasty aroma with coffee, vanilla, espresso, mocha, dark chocolate, some alcohol, bitter roast, notes of cookie. Sweetish flavour, roasty bitterness, more coffee. Body is full. Lovely.

Black, creamy brown head. Smells heavy earthy coffee, roastyness, light vanilla. Lovely thick and creamy body, with just the right amount of carbonation. Taste is intense roast, both from malts and coffee, some spicy rye, and very light vanilla. Lovely.

Très belle coopération entre les brasseries Pohjal et Other Half, où l'on reconnait le savoir-faire de Pohjala dans les porter avec un splendide équilibre. Ce porter est à la fois une tendre caresse et une intense étreinte. Une base torréfiée à merveille sur de beaux arômes pleins de café et chocolat, une texture soyeuse, une vanille et de légers arômes pimentés qui relèvent surtout et surtout un alcool à 12 % parfaitement intégré à la fois vif et chaleureux. Une très belle gourmandise. Mais revenons au début. Nous sommes ici sur un Baltic Porter enrichi de vanille de Tahiti et de café brésilien. Le visuel est sur un noir total surmonté d'une belle mousse brune. Le nez est intense et soyeux sur un cocktail simple mais gourmand de café, moka et vanille. On retrouve ces arômes avec une pointe pimentée sur l'attaque. L'ensemble est plein et riche et d'autant plus en seconde bouche où l'alcool devient plus tonique mais sans dénoter. L’arrière-bouche est sur un café plus serré et un alcool vif tandis que la final est un véritable câlin sur le café et la vanille. Arômes simples, mais très bel équilibre rendant ce Porter assez exceptionnel.

3/12/2020. Bottle from Two Brews, Colchester. Pours black with a super dark tan coloured head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, liquorice, vanilla, caramel, ash. Moderate sweetness, medium to heavy roast bitterness. Full body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Rich and flavoursome, a delicious long evening sipper.

For min virkelig binære rating (nr. 10101) har jeg gjort et dypdykk i kjelleren og funnet denne, som jeg tror jeg har kjøpt hos den statlige leverandør av primærprofylakse på Kvadrat. Brunsvart med ok skum. Nærmest vinøs, lett syrlig aroma og smak med mørke dessertchokolader, vanilje og luxuskaffe tilsatt en skvett Drambuie. Hint av bjørnebærdessert. Et vellykket valg og en utmerket følgesvenn til Korngolds Abscheidslieder med LInda Finnie og BBC Philharmonic (Chandos).

(Bottle) Pours black with tiny brown head. Aroma is a complex mix of tar, toffee, smoke, coffee. Full bodied, thick and sticky with fine carbonation. The taste is awesome, rich and complex. There’s plenty of sweetness. But this is well balanced by burnt sugar bitterness and a porty alcohol bite. There’s coffee notes too. Very nice.
