Lilikoi Lime Milkshake IPA

On tap at the brewery in Kona. Pours hazy straw yellow with a small white head, some lacing. Passionfruit, tropical fruit, melon, lime, tart. Ok

Pours cloudy pale yellow. Small white head, some lacing. Aroma is lime, grain, lactose. Flavor is light sweet, a bit tart. Medium body. Meh 4,6,5,4,11

Pretty hazy, cloudy golden and light orange coloured body with a pretty thinnish pure white head that fades quickly and barely covers the top after a few seconds. Aroma of fresh lime zest and a little bit of lilikoi here along with a bigger hit of grainy malts and some light bitterness from the hops, in the nose, at least. Light-bodied; Strong limey and very citrusey flavour at first with a tiny bit of lilikoi and even a touch of guava it seems like, without any tart notes at all and not really much sweetness from lactose, this just seems limey and malty with a bit of hops noticeable at the end. Aftertaste shows some lime zest pungency here with a dash of flowers and grainy malts and a softer, herbal bite with finally some hop bitterness coming through on the finish. Overall, a decent enough, zesty and very limey beer with some actual bitterness, a decent enough balance, but not too much sugars or lactose here to make this even seem like a 'milkshake' at all, but it is crisp and refreshing, perhaps even more so if I were drinking this in Hawai`i. On tap at Ola Kona. Cloudy straw with small white head. Aroma is malt, medium body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is malt with hints of lime.

12th December 2022, 4oz sample on a flight at the Ola Brew place in Hilo. Passion Fruit (Lilikoi) and Lime give this cloud brew a strange but interesting flavour, almost liked it!
