Shrewsbury Monthly Beer Share; Chez Sophie, 11th April 2022. Five guys all passionate about beer bringing their thoughts and offerings to split between us. Cheers Mat for this 660ml bottle, the evenings 'nightcap'. BB 31st December 2031 we did it proud! tanned topping on everyone's black bodied beer, not really smooth or rich in flavour but 'Stouty' and boozy enough. The Bourbon does come through to enhance the booziness and add some spirit to the malty, dark chocolate flavour.

660ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, April 22. Final beer of the night and probably could've done without it, but opened it was. Pitch black appearance, medium tan head. Aroma brings roasted malts, bitter dark chocolate. A touch harsh on the palate, quite sweet but a decent amount of chocolate and bourbon notes present.

Bomber. Beer Central Sheffield. Clear very dark brown. Nicely dense and sticky tan foam. Nose has dark caramel truffle chocolate. Hint of savoury. Light barrel notes. Intense vine fruit character. Taste is fairly sweet and vinous. Some soft fruit bitterness. Smooth and incredibly easy drinking with fine carbonation. Vinous and fruity chocolate bitterness to finish. Oosh.

Bottle from Eltham Wines. Black pour with a tan head. Aromas of chocolate raisin, dark roast coffee, treacle toffee. Rich roasty flavours of Turkish coffee, bourbon, chocolate cake, raisins, liquorice toffee, dates, prunes. Very Christmassy taste. Huge alcohol burn. Slow sipping excellence. Gorgeous.
