Pours a dark brown with small beige top. Aroma of chocolate, light dry roast, some sweetness - a pleasant but muted aroma. Taste holds more interest as the spiciness from the hops comes through quite nicely. It also has a decent body for the strength yet maintains an easy drinking quality. Turned out to be quite decent.

Can from Beer52. It pours clear darkest brown to black with a thick, fluffy khaki head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, pleasing hit of coffee, cacao nibs, liquorice, treacle, touch dried fruits, raisin, cranberry and toasted nut. The taste is crisp, firmly dry, touch of bitterness, earthy roasted malt, coffee grounds, toasty, plenty of dried fruits, raisin, sultana, fig rolls, splash of cola, cola cubes and light spice with a dry roasted finish. Fairly light body for this type and mode+ carbonation. Decent.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A hazy chestnut brown coloured pour with a carpet of cream coloured head; nutty malt aroma; rather thin in the mouth with a refreshing Kentish hop bitterness and a creamy body with a hint of chocolate; then a malty caramel finish.
