An amalgamation of roasted stouty goodness with a layering of crystal malt to provide a toffee goodness.

A nice high finish gravity provides mouthfeel density and sweetness backed up by a healthy dosing of dates to give that distinctive sticky toffee pudding goodness.

A reserved addition of mixed spice really finishes this beer off as a complex delight for the senses.

Can from Beer52. Pours black with small tanned head with modest retention. Aroma of toffee, dates, chocolate, cardamom and cinnamon. Taste of moderate roasted malt, caramel, brown sugars, spice but more undefined than the aroma, some raisin and dates, reasonable hoppy finish for the style. Medium bodied, some stickiness on the palate but then again this is based on a desert. Good.

Growler thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - mat black with an orange chink. Thin beige head. Nose - mince pies, so raisins, dry fruit and mixed spice with toffee too. Taste - boozy dried fruit, winter spices. Still toffee, treacle sponge. Palate - medium bodied, sweet and spicy. Overall - good.

Growler fill from the Low Cost Beer online shop. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of mixed spice and dates, some chocolate. Raisins and toffee. Taste is more of the same. Fair enough. Does what they aimed to do.

Can from Beer52. It pours darkest brown with a dissipating light tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, festive spice, cinnamon , nutmeg, light vanilla, bitter - sweet character, chocolate, toffee sauce and Jamaican gingerbread. The taste is firm and dry upfront, dark roasted malt, plenty of warming festive spice, gingerbread, toffee sauce, touch of alcohol, light umami and some light charred notes with a roasty, spicy finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Not as sweet as I had feared. Actually not too shabby.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A deep cola brown coloured pour with a fast fading beige head; aroma of dates and some Christmas spice; dry malty body with more Christmas spice; and some dates to finish. Not as sweet as expected.

330ml can via Beer52: BB 22nd April 2024. Drank at home on 28th May 2023. Weak tanned topping to a black bodied brew. Dates added apparently, didn't pick them up in the malty chocolate taste and aroma, didn't notice any hop action either. Not as 'lush' as I expected really, so a little underwhelmed by the whole thing.
