Can from Beer52's Siren 10th Anniversary box. I poured hard as instructed but not much of a cascade effect although a good looking beige to tanned head. Aroma of dark roasted malts, coffee, wood, light bourbon, hay. The Bourbon maple oak is certainly prevalent in the flavour with roasted malt and hints of chocolate. Smooth medium body, a sweet maple-woody tang but drying and bitter also. Good.

Draft. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, bourbon, and vanilla. The flavor is sweet with notes of vanilla, maple syrup, bourbon, roasted malt, bourbon, and dark chocolate, leading to a dry finish.

[33cl can from Beer52.] An opaque, matt, peaty brown colour with a thick oaty coloured head following a nitro style pour; maple syrup aroma; the oak is immediately apparent in the mouth, taking the edge off the sweetness of the maple, then some leather and peaty malts before a sweet cookie dough finish with some twiggy bitterness. Some good things about this beer, but it doesn't seem to come together.

On tap at The Craft Beer Co - Covent Garden, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out intense bourbon, oak and medium roast - somewhat cheap and artificial. Flavour is medium fry, with oak chips, light vanillin and dry earthy malt. Dry, bready and English malty on the finish with an oaky tinge. Decent but nothing wholly satisfying.

Tap@Taphouse, Copenhagen (07/05/2023) - black with a very light ringed beige head. Dark sweet roasted malty aroma and taste, chocolate, burnt brown sugar, light ashy roast, smooth full bodied, maple and bourbon infused dark malty finish.

150ml draught, from a sample tray at Taphouse. Patchy surface, jet black in the glass, rings of lace down the glass. Slightly roasted, rather sweet malty aromas, syrup scent. Sweet flavours of syrup and caramel, wood, lactose backbone. Roasted ending with a moderate bourbon bite, not overly sweet. Fine depth. Pretty good. (Rating no. 23300) (Copenhagen, 03.05.2023).

330ml can from Beer52. My fifth and final beer in a mini tasting with myself at home on 23rd April 2023. Poured into my Gordons thistle shaped glass it looked good. Black with a good tanned head. Bourbon very prominent in both the aroma and taste, blended nicely with the chocolate maltiness. Best beer ever from Beer52? Just maybe!
