A decadent fruited Imperial Stout, Force Tremor has spent almost two years in Frederiksdal Cherry wine barrels, each with 30kg of the Stevnsbær sour cherry, Birgitte. Coming from Frederiksdal's first organic orchard, the North-facing Johannesmark orchard measures only 2.7 hectares and only produces cherries of the very highest quality. Layers of chocolate and vanilla give way to a tart, rich cherry finish. Like the perfect marriage between an Oude Kriek and an Imperial Stout. You won't find anything quite like Force Tremor, indeed..

On tap at Beer Emporium, Sandbach. Pours a very dark and murky reddish-brown with minimal beige head. The aroma is mainly cherries, plus fgs and hints of barrel aging. In the mouth it is sweet and cloying (but not excessively so) with cherries and chocolate in the flavour. Also alcoholic strength can be easily detected. Later the tartness becomes apparent, plus a little bitterness and hints of red wine and vailla. Tartness lasts into the boozy finish. This is quite simply wonderful – and not anything like as sour as the description led me to expect.

10 November 2023. At Billie's Craft Beer Fest. Thanks to tderoeck for sharing today's beers - cheers to so many more!

Hazy black. Pear, green apple, oak, cherry, brandy, fig. Sweet pear, green apple, sourish cherry & red berry, some unripe red grape perhaps. Dark fudge & dried fruits in the woody, brandy-like finish. Medium body, oily texture. Could have been more pronounced, but generally agreeable.
