Keg @ Balance Brewing & Blending Tap Room, Manchester. Deeper tasting than some of the other blends, but Its barrel-ageing is also not quite as pronounced - still decent though. Excellent saison style, fruity, lower sourness factor. Very mildly hazed golden colour.

Keg at the Balance taproom, Manchester, 26/01/24. Almost clear golden blonde with a white cap that dissipates to edgework. Nose is grass, straw, herb, funk, hedgerow. Taste comprises green berry must, damp oak, lemon balm, herb, grains, pissy twang, yeast esters, tannins. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced puckering edge. Solid.

Draught Huge, fluffy snowwhite head over coldhazed pale golden beer. Lemon, lemonpeel, dry yeast, dry herbs, bit metallic aroma. Dry, again citruspeel. dry herbs & (root)spices. Non-comestible grains, giving a light unfermentable sugar. Appropriately light, good carbonation. Herbal flavour reigns. Exactly what the current craft beer aficionads think a saison is.
