Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Vanilla Stout with Coconut
We pushed eight choice casks of Fundamental Observation through 350lbs of fresh coconut flakes and another 350lbs of hand-toasted coconut flakes to create the incredible second bottling of #FOCOCO. Tropical aromas rise from the glass and melt into a swirling flourish of velvety viscosity on the palate. The coconut addition brings a softness to the 13% ABV, smoothing the experience out into a luxurious lazy river of vanilla and coconut. Show Less

During MBCC 2023 Saturday afternoon session with Matt, Brian, Ryan, Phill, Erik, along with superhelpful, bossy, funny, and sarcastic Rachel, hehe. Appearance: brown. Aroma: sweet, vanilla, some chocolate and coconut. Taste: same, lots of toffee. Overall: nice one.

22 oz. bottle. Huge thanks to TJ on this bottle. Aroma is bold coconut, chocolate, vanilla. The flavor is exceptional. Vanilla, coconut, and chocolate never becomes cloying. Bourbon is lightly noticed in the finish. This is a absolute gem of a impy stout!!

500mL, bottled 2022, drunk 1/14/23. Dark tan head to ring, high clarity in the dark mahogany beer. Rich, rich, thick, dark, sweet, vanilla and coconut with rich malt and caramel. Wow there is no astringency, no dominance of alcohol, soft, creamy vanilla, with rich notes of bourbon and creamy honey. Rich, thick, creamy, viscous, fudgey, vanilla-heavy, with bourbon. Sweet, rich, malty, vanilla-forward. Some alcohol in there, though, which isnt great. Rich, creamy, sweet, thick, coconut and fudge forward with creamy-sweet vanilla. Soft, malty, chocolatey. This is insane, so not sugary and so malty with so much coconut and vanilla. Soft and creamy with light bourbon and dark chocolate.
