Bottle from trial sixpack. Lovely red chestnut, brown cream. Flowery hops, honeyish malt, light roast. Medium body, foamy sparkly mouthfeel. Chewy entry, bready grain, light cocoa, roast, caramel, wooden dyiness. A bit un the sweet side but pleasant.

Bottle picked up from brewery, Aldersbach consumed at home Sunday 4th June 2023 June 2023, it's stunning weather today and we had a lovely day yesterday with Christian, Josef and Valerie after an afternoon at the new house, Manghlam 17, Innernzell. We're cooking One-Pan Baked Chicken and Tomato Biryani and listening to Lanterns on the Lake - Versions of Us. Pours deep reddy brown with a little haze, there is a mid sized off white head. Malty nose, nice soft mouthfeel, good dark fruity twangy edge, a little bit of boozy cola. Good.

Für ein Altbier steht das mit 14,5 % Stammwürze und 6,0 % Alkohol auf recht kräftigen Beinen. Farbe: Klares, dunkles Mahagoni. Schaumentwicklung medium bis gut. Röstmalzig in der Nase. Geschmacklich tritt die Röstigkeit etwas in den Hintergrund und macht Platz für das Malz. Wobei diese nicht mit der ganz großen Süße daherkommt - eher kernig getreidig. Ein winziger Hauch Leder, minimale Spuren von dunklen Beeren. Auch der erhöhte Alkoholgehalt ist nach ein paar Schlucken zu erahnen. Schön weich, vollmundige Substanz - geschmacklich aber vergleichsweise schlank. Sicher kein typischer Vertreter für diesen Bierstil - aber auf alle Fälle eine interessante Interpretation.
