Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is heavy on the barrel with roasted malt, prominent whiskey, oak, iodine, peat, smoke, tar, caramel, and some chocolate. Flavour is sweet with a mild roasty bitterness. Body is medium. Strong Bowmore character, body could be more full.

33cl bottle from Biiru's Christmas Calendar. Pours close to black with a quite modest, short-lived, off-white head. Malty and peaty with pleasant, mild whisky notes, dark chocolate, wood and hints of caramel and dried dark fruits. Sweet and flavourful with nice roasty and peaty flavours and a balanced bitterness. Feels a bit thin, but otherwise certainly quite enjoyable.

Black with a creamy, beige head that soon fades. Aroma is earthy, smoked, with bacon and a hint of chocolate. Taste is bitter, earthy, full of peat. Finishes roasted bitter and moderately boozy with lingering smoke. The body is surprisingly delicate, carbonation is mild. Good overall, but lacks the complexity to be among the top of the style.

Black with low carbonation and quick fading head. Aroma and flavour are intense with earthy peat and sweet malts. There's an enhanced burnt caramel bittersweetness too. Hits all the high notes of bitterness and earthy peatiness but does not overwhelm.
