Tripel made for the 130th anniversary of the CERA bank (now Cera bvba), probably an alias of Kraaike Tripel Blond, but this is hard to substantiate unambiguously so I will leave that matter alone for lack of evidence. Thanks to tderoeck for sharing. Snow white, open, loosely structured head on a warm, clear yellow blonde robe. Aroma of apple peel, halfripe banana, young 'jenever', coriander seed, green pear, white soap, plastic, grass. Sweetish onset with sourish undertone, apple and banana esters, softish carb, slick body (and a bit thinned by alcohol even at this ABV); the fruity esters continue over a smooth, 'clean' and straightforward pale maltiness adorned with a pinch of not overly dominant coriander and eventually a mild bitterness of floral hops. Worse, though, is that 'jenever'-ish alcohol warming the throat - even in a potent tripel like this, the alcohol should not be this obvious. Badly hidden booze, cliché fruitiness (and not even enough of it) and overly simplistic, thin maltiness: I am sure the Cera people were satisfied with the result, but I was not satisfied at all. Not very celebrational as an anniversary beer, even for a beer made for a bank...

Pours hazy blonde, big stable white head. Scent is fairly mild, malty at most. Sharp grainyness, bit of banana-esters underneath. Taste is mildly bitter, full maltyness, slight honey aspect (bit of age?) very estery , making it to be slick in it's feel. Very basic tripel of average quality i'd say. Could benefit from better balance or a feature to make it stand out more.

20/XII/23 - 75cl bottle from De Koninck (Antwerp) @ post exam drink Zytho class (Syntra Gent), BB: III/2025 (2023-1184) Thanks to Jan for sharing the bottle!
Clear pale yellow blond beer, small creamy white head, unstable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet impression, a bit dusty, quite some ripe banana, some star anise, a bit herbal. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, pretty herbal, good bitterness, some coriander, decent, sugary. Aftertaste: spicy, sweet, pretty bitter as well, decent stuff, nice!
