From tap @ Mikkeller Bar Helsinki 2.10.21. Poured black in color with an off white head. Lovely roasty aroma with nuts, chocolate and strong coffee notes. Actually much less sweet than the barrel versions I have tried. Balanced and tasty IS.

Can - labeled as 12% abv - viscous black pour - nose of espresso, licorice, chocolate, maple - thick, full mouthfeel - flavors of coffee, chocolate, maple, anise, smoke/char - late flavors of umami balance out the heavy sweetness - it’s tasty.

On tap @ Mikkeller-Morebeer. Pours black with short tan head. Aromas of maple syrup, earthy coffee and dry roasted malts. Flavors are initially creamy maple syrup but then dry earthy coffee followed by clean roasted malts. Nice

Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, licorice, coffee and maple. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter with a long warm, roasted, chocolate, maple and coffee finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Aus der Dose (bbe 22.10.2020/12,0%) im 2020-07 getrunken. Dieses IStout hat eine kurzweilige, recht feste,aber feine Schaumkrone. Am Gaumen ist es sehr kräftig und seine recht bitteren Röstaromen und dem Kaffee werden von dem Ahornsirup nur leicht unter Kontrolle gehalten. Es ist ein sehr gutes IStout, aber diese etwas fehlende Harmonie fordert schon recht viel Aufmerksamkeit und so ist es nicht ganz leicht zu genießen.

Dark pour with a tall ,fine-grained tan head. Huge coffee up front, followed by burnt caramel, maple, espresso, mocha, cacao nibs, more coffee, more maple, ashy roastiness, subtle bourbon. Really nice, right up my alley - lots of coffee and plenty of maple syrup, but not over the top on the sweetness.
