(Can) Black colour with brief, foamy, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with black coffee, liquorice, maple syrup, cacao and hints of booze. Malty, roasted, vinous taste with notes of black coffee, maple syrup, liquorice, dark chocolate, herbs, a touch of mint, vanilla and a generous coffee bitterness in a warming finish. Full body, quite sweet. On the boozy side, but really rich and tasty. Very nice.

Can from Hopduvel. Cloudy black, stable, frothy, dark beige head. Intense aroma of maple syrup, burnt pancake, espresso, Kahlúa, chocolate sauce, dark fudge, pecan pie, vague black olive. Taste has sweet dark chocolate, maple syrup, pecan & caramel turning towards a deep bitterness of espresso with a touch of vanilla and umami black olive. Bitter earthy & peppery hops in the finish, slightly herbal & woody maple, ongoing bitter coffee roast and bittersweet dark chocolate; a firm dash of Kahlúa-like alcohol. Full body, oily-syrupy texture, soft carbonation. Rich, full, decadent, brings me right back to San Diego.

From tap at Mikkeller at Morebeer. Aroma is a big blast of maple syrup with dark malt, syrup, caramel, grindy coffee. Burnt caramel, fudge. Sweet flavour, mild bitter. Some alcohol. Full body. Pretty thick, maple all over the place. Very good.

Can listed at 12%. Black with a tall, light brown head that turns creamy. Pancake house aroma. Fudge. Taste is mildly bitter up front, sweet at the back with a bit of lingering maple syrup. Full-bodied, thick and chewy stuff. Balanced carbonation. Incredibly boozy though and quite warming at the finish. Good, but not great.

Can split at Level 6 Tasting, picked up from CPH airport Mikkeller bar IIRC, 02/03/23. Black with a thin tan cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is chocolate, dark malts, spice, charr. Taste comprises bitter sweet tones, dark malts, toffee, cocoa powder, fruit cake mix, touch of coffee. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Tidy enough impy stout.

0.473 l can thanks to Pilot Goran who brought it from Denmark as a present to Black Suba and Ade McSquid and thanks to Višnja 666 for making them share it with us. Oily jet black, minimal head. Aroma is molasses, syrup, raisins. Chocolate. Full body, sweet, syrupy, nice roasty and chocolate profile. Smooth, warming, but also alcoholic. A bit too strong, not unpleasant.

Can (Alko web). Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is liquorice, some toffee, dried fruits, mild alcohol, vanilla, nutty notes too. Flavour is liquorice, some smoke, toffee, dried fruits, mild alcohol and some nutty notes.

Can at home. Opaque pitch black color, quickly disappearing head. Aroma and flavor are malts, some roast, some kind of nutty influence but can't quite put my finger on it. Quite heavy coffee, some maple. Medium to full body and carbonation. Solid.
