Bottled@O'Haras, Tampere. Rubyish black colour with a mediumsized slightly off-white head. Aroma is ripe fruits, espresso, some toffee an mild nutty and chocolaty tones. Flavour is chocolaty, some ripe fruits, mild vanilla, coffee and some roasted tones. A bit on the thin side of the palate, otherwise nice.

Bottle, gift from Mum & Dad- cheers! Dark brown with a small beige head and a bit of fizz- too much for a stout to my mind. Coffee and chocolate on the nose is pleasant. On tasting it’s rather thin and the flavours are too mild. The chocolate is ok if subdued and the coffee gets a bit fake and syrupy by the end. All the beers in this Waddy’s craft range seem a bit half-hearted and unfortunately this one is no exception. Shame- would have liked Waddy’s to pull this off but possibly a step too far into the unknown for this very traditional brewery.

Bottle at The Victoria Arms, Old Marston, Oxford 4th July 2012 whilst out morris dancing with Armaleggan Pours very dark mahogany slight head. Big on coffee and dark sugars, soft coffee aromas, in fact I like the pleasant wafts of coffee. Soft carbonation, a little bit thin otherwise I would have to say it’s pretty good. A7 A3 T6 P4 Ov14 3.4
