Draft @ Gist. Hazy blond colour, white foam. Complex saison, notes of lemon, brett, woody with flowery hints. Great balance.

(Draught at Gist, Brussels, 20 Oct 2023) Golden colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, funky nose with notes of grapefruit, green apples, oak wood and brett. Fruity, tart taste with citrus, apples, vinegar, hay, brett, oak wood and a funky finish with low bitterness. Medium body, dry. Quite yeasty and woody, still in good balance. Nice one.

Tap at Delirium Cafe. Rather thin body, rather low carbonation. Light bitterness, med-light sourness, light tartness. Mostly funky, grassy, hay, pleasant soft funk flavours. Very tasty, feeling actually old style, good.

On tap at GIST, pours a clear pale copper blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out old sweat socks, rustic saison heart and a touch of earthiness. Flavour is musty, with old earthy rustic saison yeast, cardboard, and earthiness. Tastes very old, like cardboard — old brett and cardboard. Is this fresh? Doesn't taste so.

Clear orange beer, small creamy white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very funky, lots of malts, a bit oxidized, fruity, some tropical fruits, a bit floral. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter, funky, tropical fruits, hoppy, grassy, some wood notes maybe. Aftertaste: dry, spicy, herbal touch, a bit peppery, sourish touch, hoppy, not great. Not a real saison, definitely not an "Old Style Saison" as the name claims to be. Sort of a cross over between IPA and saison maybe? Not an example of 1+1 is 3.
