Slightly darker than amber, still transparent with the slightest bit of haziness. Forms very little head, even with quite hard pouring, and it disappears quickly. Average intensity in the aroma: caramel malts with honey notes and the lightest nutty softness. A delicate hoppy background of grassy/herbal notes. Taste shows a prominent malty base as the smell suggested: caramel, hints of honey, a slightly more pronounced nuttiness. Light herbal/grassy notes bring a hint of freshness. There's a quite prominent sweet edge in the mouth but the finish is pretty dry with floral hoppiness and a hint of earthiness. Mouthfeel and finish didn't seem well integrated to me. Rather light bodied with low to medium carbonation, quite smooth and easily drinkable. Ok, not impressed. Edit 11/04/2024. Second try (another bottle, maybe from the same batch, quite strange...). Way better now. More head, good enough retention. Aroma and taste notes as mentioned, with the lightest buttery/diacetyl softness. Maybe it's a plus: not at all unpleasant or too high, gives a pleasantly soft feeling, the flavours seem more integrated with less sweet/bitter contrast. First try was a 3.1, this one should be a 3.4/3.5. 3.3 feels like a good average.

On tap pours out amber topped with a sand head. Nose is caramel toffee bread malts and some cirrus. Taste is more of the sweet malts and a pity bitter grapefruit hop end.

750ml bottle. Unclear amber with a fluffy head. Dry hoppy notes, lemon zest, roasted malt and roasted nuts, some caramel, maple syrup, some metallic notes. Malty sweetness, dry hoppy bitterness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry hoppy malty bittersweet finish. Nice balance of dry hops and malty caramel notes.

Falkenštejn Ostroff. Shared with wchesser. Dark coppery amber body, white head. Big aroma, sweetish dark bread, quite nice! Taste... huh, good strong dark bread smooth maltiness, quite nice, but let down at the last moment by a touch of green apple. Very close to greatness!
