Bottle. Deep, dark brown, almost black in color. Not much head. Aroma was a pleasant roasted grain, nutty smell. Taste was malty sweet upfront, nuts and roasted grains in the middle with a thick finish.

Bottle. A- Leather, tree bark, dusty, cocoa. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, beige head. T- Watered down coffee, roasty, char, mild bitterness, cocoa. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, dry finish. O- Pretty dry. Not a ton of dark fruit but some. Lots of dry earthy coffee notes. Okay, but perhaps a bit different that my expectations.

Rough around the edges, aggressive and overly charred for a Baltic porter, with a bitter streak on the finish that comes across more burnt toast than roasted malt. Chocolate, molasses, cherry, and cola notes are nice, but the middle edges a little sweet, and the bitter, almost salty finish doesn't make for an inviting fade. Medium body and thin texture don't help. Skippable.

16 ounce can into snifter, canned on 1/10/2019. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crusts; with lighter notes of toffee, smoke, charcoal, anise, dark fruits, leather, tobacco, pepper, pine, and herbal/grassy earthiness. A bit too fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crusts; with lighter notes of toffee, smoke, charcoal, anise, dark fruits, leather, tobacco, pepper, pine, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, grassy, peppery hop; and roast/charcoal bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread/crusts, toffee, smoke, charcoal, anise, dark fruits, leather, tobacco, pepper, pine, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great hop/char bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Very clean on lager flavors, not overly fruity/yeasty. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.5%. Overall this is a very nice Baltic Porter. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the ABV, with the mellowly bitter/charred/drying finish. Very clean, rich, and well rounded malt complexity, balancing earthy hops, and mild fruity yeast character. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Bottle from chalet premier. Pour is nice and dark and it has a big volatile malty impact on the nose. Very strong initial flavors. Difficult & medicinal. Needs to be taught a few more manners. Rather uncivilized finish. Not impressed. Somewhat mouth-coating in the end.

Takeaway bottle from Brewdog Tower Hill. Sweet aroma - berries and coffee. Dark and glossy. Fluffy light beige head. Medium bitter with a sugary burnt caramel vein. Dark chocolate. Liquorice. Some roast. Light-medium bodied. Thin cream. Sticky. Average carbonation. Relatively abrupt finish. Pleasant if restrained. But certainly drinkable.

Bottle bought at BrewDog Tower Hill. Shared with Finn. Pours a frothy beige head with crocheted lacing down the glass. Black in the glass. Roasted dark malty nose, hints of anise. Rather rich taste profile of chocolate and anise joined by a coffee touch towards a roasted ending. Smooth in the mouth. Well bodied and well made. (Hotel room, Dalston, London 29.09.2018).

Flaske fra Brewdog Tower Hill. Delt med Rune på rom 202 Premier Inn, Hackney. Svart. Høyt kremaktig skum som daler sakte og etterlater litt filigranser. Kaffearoma. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken kaffe & sjokolade. Balansert. Litt søt.

Bottle (at Brewdog Brussels). Pours dark brown with beige head. The head stays. Aroma is roast, malt, chocolate, some graininess. Flavor follows the nose. Finnish has some dryness. Overall: good.
