Paradox is never rushed. The thing is, sometimes the flavours pull rank. The powerfully charred first-fill Uncle Duke's whisk(e)y casks gave so much that we - like Duke - pulled the trigger.

Our latest Paradox is the closing of a circle that began four years ago. Uncle Duke's, our trans-Atlantic mash-up of Scotch and Bourbon is a supersonic blast through the cask-ageing process.

And what a ride.

The barrels that give Duke everything have so much left for Paradox. Vanilla, notes of honey and candied fruit, sticky toffee. Good ol' frontier molasses. Campfire coffee. Paradox Uncle Duke's is as dark as a prairie night and ready to be discovered.

Nitro tap at Brewdog tallinn, thanks marduk. Pours black with beige-light brown head. Aroma and flavor are sweet, boozy, roast, chocolate, malt, tar. Overall: good, but one of the lesser paradoxes.

Keg @ Coracle. Pours very dark brown, small pale tan topping. Complex nose, nutty whisky caramel, charred oak, leather. Continues to taste with a good nutty whisky caramel warmth, chocolate hints with additional vanilla and honey notes. Everything holds together nicely with a warming alcohol presence. Excellent complex sipper.

Keg @ Brewdog Helsinki on their 4th Birthday. Poured almost black in color. Rye, malts, barrel notes, plums in aroma. Surprisingly smooth and light considering the abv. Not boozy. Whisky, wood, rye in flavor. Not as complex as I thought it would be but I like the rye and the barrel notes. Long warming finish. Bit edgy later on, needs some aging?
