A Premium Extra Pale Lager. Using a time-honored recipe with only the finest malted barley and blend of hops, Rolling Rock is a classic American lager that is as well-known for its distinctive, full-bodied taste as it is for its craftsmanship, heritage and green bottle. Full-flavored, with a subtle bite. Light-to-medium body and color. Brewed with only the choicest ingredients; a perfect blend of pale barley malt, rice and corn.

Can: Poured a super pale yellow color lager with a medium size foamy head with light retention. Aroma of sweet adjunct is gross when I was expecting plain bland aroma. Taste is also gross with weird adjunct notes that are not even refreshing. This is worse then I was expecting, i.e. plain boring Coors Light style lager.

I have seen this logo and beer in commercials, always coming from the States. I have always liked the look of the bottle, but had never got a chance to try it. I always thought it looked like Canada’s Steam Whistle brew (which is a great North American Pilsner). Now, finally, I get a chance to try this, as the LCBO gets the cans (it seems from Labatt here). Man !! This is really bad ! Well, it looks alright with it’s big white head that stays a while and give out good lacing. Then, a horrible scent. Something like water from a really rusted pipe. And then again, the taste is not even close to malt, not even corn, but this yukky fake chemical wannabe bean porridge. Full adjunct crap. Pure fecal matter (and I do prefer any Bud to this). Seriously.

Thought this would be better because my dad used to like it a lot, but it’s really not very interesting. A little corny, literally, but not enough to put a solid fingerprint on. Better than many North American macro lagers

Canette 473ml.

How do you come up with a way to describe the uniquely "Extra Pale" flavor of Rolling Rock? The only phrase that ever comes close, in my estimation, is "moth ball soda." For years, I drank Rolling Rock thinking it represented microbreweries and craft rebelliousness (I used to be twice as stupid as I am now.) And for years, it always reminded me of moth balls. Bad lager, yes, but still, better than Budweiser. (5/08)

Bottle. Pours clear almost water with some yellow. Nose is inoffensive, mostly corn, barley and pale malts. Taste is hard to drink - dry corn, stale water, rice cakes and pale malts. Light almost straight water body.

Pours pale yellow into a shaker. Bright white head with little retention recedes to nothing. Sweet candy corn and adjunct aromas. Crisp with watery grass and hay from front to back.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a pale yellow with small white head. A little lacing, thin palate, and medium carbonation. Taste is light malt. Nothing special, but doesn’t taste horrible.
