Craft Beer Junction. Keg. Almost opaque dark brown beer, decent tan head. Airy and semi dry palate, decent fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, a mild roast, a little dark chocolate. Modest ripe fruits before a fairly dry finish. Inoffensive flavour wise but thin and dry.

Cask at CP&K. It pours jet black black with a small, but sturdy tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, coffee, umami, liquorice, dark chocolate, praline and malt loaf. The taste is rich roasted malt, bitter - sweet, charred, umami, liquorice, espresso coffee hit, burnt toast, toasted spice, quite smooth and unctuous, cacao nibs, bitter dark chocolate and light nuttiness with a smooth, roasty finish. Medium body and moderate, velvety mouth feel. A classic Irish stout. Moreish and satisfying.

Very decent dry stout, looks and tastes just the ticket. Deep, dark brown with a frothy tan head and milk chocolate on the nose. Any expectation of sweetness from the aroma soon disappears, it’s dry and bitter, big on coffee grounds, and maybe a hint of smoke, the dry, roasted bitterness carries on into the finish, with a hint of dark fruit in the aftertaste
