Pint at the Hanging Bat. Pours hazy yellow gold with a thick white head. Aromas are grainy, some lemon and spice. Taste is more of the same. Light bitter finish.

A: clear golden, thin, off-white head.
A: wheat, soap, lemon zest, perfume, yellow apple.
T: sweetish apple & banana, sourish lemon & wheat, bit spicy coriander.
F: vague grassy hops, grain, soap.
P: light body, slick texture, soft carbonation.

On tap at Hops, Crewe (as Chouffe Session). Pours a hazy golden amber with a sizable frothy almost white head and good lacing. There’s malts and yeast in the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet though slightly watery with the usual Belgian flavours of banana, yeast and bubblegum. Also tropical fruits and later on hints of honey, pine and coriander leading to a slightly dry finish. This is rather nice – the low strength makes it more swiggable !

gefunden in einem Billa-Supermarkt in Retz und ich glaube, dass es dort niemand gekauft hätte, da knapp vor MHD noch viele Flaschen da waren
Es ist aber ein tolles belgisches 🍺, das tatsächlich den feinen Chouffe-Geschmack in eine leichte 🪰Form bringt. So ist es wirklich weniger schwer als der Klassiker, aber doch wunderbar aromatisch und fein trinkbar.

330mL bottle, pours a clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma reveals a perhaps lighter version of that classic spicy Chouffe yeast, with doughy malt and gentle hoppiness. Flavour is light, with spicy Belgian yeast and soft doughy malt. Finishes dry and floral. Clean and easy-drinking, but not particularly interesting or deep.

Dorée sur un léger pâle, col blanc fin crémeux.
Arôme est sur une base typique belge - bouquet léger sur les esters avec une base houblonnée classique sur le noble.
Palais reste sur une base très belge avec un effet ester qui se retrouve sur la Chouffe classique avec une douceur latente. Léger apport des houblons tirant sur le floral et fruité sans être vraiment convainquant. Chouffe classique avec la moitié de l'alcohol mais voulant garder le même goût de fait, lire la suite ... en plein sur l'étiquette comme 4ième ingrédients - du houblon? que nenni, mais du sirop de glucose - et de fait un gros point négatif, quel but sur cette bière? et voilà des points en moins pour le score final. L'âme de Chouffe se dilue depuis le rachat par Duvel, pour n'être que l'ombre d'elle-même.
