Bottle at Chris & Ruth’s pre-GBBF tasting, 2015. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Coffee, toffee and chocolate aroma. Rich toffee notes come through in the flavour augmented by a dash of caramel and a whisper of coffee. Dry roasty finish. Quite nice.

Bottle shared at Chris and Ruth’s pre-GBBF tasting 2015 - London. Pours clear, deep black-brown with a creamy, tan head. Tangy dark fruits in the nose, some oxidation, metallic notes. Medium sweet flavor, oily, with notes of burnt toast, cocoa and earth. Medium to full bodied, thick and a little chewy, with fine carbonation. Mouth-coating oiliness lingers in the finish, with other notes of tangy fruits and bittersweet cocoa. A little messy.

Bottle shared at ChrisOs house of Pancakes. It pours near black with a decent tan head. The nose is sort, rich roast, coffee, cocoa, mild acidity, liquorice and touch of jammy berry. The taste is smooth, bitter - sweet, creamy roast, coffee, chocolate, mild acidity, rather savoury, liquorice, toasty, umami and peppery spice. Medium+ body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Well rounded and rather drinkable. Works for me.
