330ml can. Jet black colour with average, frothy to creamy, slowly diminishing, moderately lacing, beige head. Chocolately, dark malty and minimally fruity aroma, notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, couverture, hints of cherry, chocolate sponge cake. Taste is roasty and chocolately, dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, couverture, hints of chocolate sponge cake, some hop bitterness, weak fruity overtones with a touch of cherry. Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, smooth and soft, simultaneously minimally dry palate, fine, dense, soft, mildly prickly carbonation. Well controlled sweetness, quite chocolately - not bad.

33cl Blik van Walhalla. Zwarte kleur, beige kraag. Gebrande mout, zure kersen, brownies, roggebrood, stevig maar toch ook fris. Lekker. Medium body.

(Draught at Gollem Craft Beers, Amsterdam, 17 Feb 2024) Black colour with brief, beige head. Malty nose with coffee, dark chocolate, dark fruit and caramel. Malty, roasted taste with sweet espresso, dark chocolate, caramel, dark cherries and a balanced coffee bitterness. Almost full body, quite sweet. Rich and smooth, with lots of coffee, chocolate and cherries. Very nice.

0.33 l can from 'Rebelbeercans', canned in October 2023. Clear, very dark ruby to black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty and a little fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, hazelnut and hints of cherry. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, gently roasty and a bit fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, hazelnut, licorice, caramel, burnt bread crust and traces of cherry, followed by a medium long, quite roasty-bitter, a bit ashy finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite good as a Baltic Porter, fortunately very low on the cherries.
