Can, from Broadway Dive Bar, Manhattan (Apr 2024). Pours opaque dark brown with a creamy tan head, faint coffee aroma, low carbonation, sweetish mocha taste that turns bitter later, maple juice, banana flavor, thin body, long bitter finish. Very tasty!

Can from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brn/blk with a very dark creamy tan head that fizzed away. Aroma is heavy with chocolate and coffee. Full bodied. Heat appears quickly. It's quite malty. Bitter from burnt malt and heat. Flavor is burnt malt, chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Tasty and heavy-duty ale.

16 oz. can. Black, with a dense, startlingly dark, foamy head. The aroma is butter toffee, dark chocolate, pecan, vanilla, and whiskey. Cloyingly sweet, with a light, earthy bitterness. Very heavy body, chewy, and thick. Decadent, complex, and focused. Very nice.

Relatively cautious, sweet-ish, slightly roasty, dark malty and slightly caramel malty, minimally spicy aroma, notes of dark chocolate, dark caramel, vanilla, hints of coffee, cocoa, weak fruity and spicy overtones with a touch of blueberry, cinnamon, cherry, nuts, toffee. Taste is sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty, fruity and slightly alcoholic, minimally spicy, notes of vanilla, cocoa, dark chocolate, some toffee, blueberry, honey, cherry, plum wine; warming, alcoholic finish. Viscous texture, smooth, soft and silky palate, very fine, dense, soft carbonation. Rich and intense, complex, maybe a tad too boozy - pretty good.
