For the third beer in our DDH West Coast IPA series, we’ve used Citra YCH 702 Trial again after how much we loved it in Pillars, paired alongside Nelson Sauvin & Motueka.

Bright notes of Ruby Grapefruit and Orange peel intermingle with tart Gooseberry and Lime, as the defining characteristics of Nelson Sauvin meet Citra in this NZ/USA hop profile. The finish is long with a pleasant bitterness, with aromatic and herbal flavours finishing with a heady, resinous Pine quality.

440ml can. Clear golden, white head. Aroma of grapefruit, lime, gooseberry and some light dank notes. Taste is very citrusy, grapefruit and lime dominate, gooseberry, resin, then some dry and a strong, very piney bitterness. Medium bodied. An excellent WC IPA.

Can picked up from M&F Bottleshop and drunk at home (09/03/2024) - clear golden pour with a white head. Fruity notes of gooseberry and white grape, then some tangerine and melon notes, splash of lime, crisp and clean, sweet malty backing, grassy and herbal resinous bitter hoppy finish. Great west coast action.
