Sophie is the Head Brewer here at Burnt Mill and takes the first spot to highlight our Brewer's Choice brews. Gently roasted malts in this beer give warming toasted biscuit and coffee notes, much akin to some of the cask beers Sophie started to drink when she discovered 'Real Ale'. As the love of American hops started to creep into the UK beer scene, blends of different styles were created. To celebrate this, Mantle Point is hopped with Cascade, Chinook and Simcoe for spicy pine and citrus fruits.

Can from Caledonian Craft Beer Merchant. Ckear amber/brown with a beige head. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of orange peel, caramel and fudge. Flavour of coffee, pine, marmalade and raw, bitter hops. Medium body with a smooth texture. Very fizzy. A lovely US brown ale, sweet and heavily hopped. I’d love to see more hoppy red/brown/dark beers.

440ml can. Clear dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of biscuit, toffee, caramel malts and some strong piney hops. Taste is malty, biscuit, caramel, toffee, some dried/berry fruit, and again big piney resinous hop flavours pushing through. Love this, a (very rare) extremely enjoyable brown ale!
