Respire - a pint with purpose. Atop a sweet, velvety malt base are layers of Citra and Chinook, bringing huge tropical and citrus notes to this smooth, refreshing ale. At just 4%, this beer is exactly what you want to be carefully carrying out to the pub garden, before promptly rushing back for another. But that's not even the half of it. Not only a cracking pint, Respire is completely and officially carbon neutral. At Black Sheep, we are committed to becoming a sustainability-focused business, and it all starts with Respire.

[October 2022] Clear and golden with a small frothy white head and a grainy citrus nose. Light bodied with citrusy bitterness up front, nothing really behind it

Smooth fresh fruity beginning. Floral, grainy. Subtle sweetish. Easy to drink, floral hops. Nice.

Cask at the Fox & Hounds, Sloane Square on 23rd March 2024. Clear amber with shallow, dull foam and spot lacing. Caramel malt and leafy hops in aroma. Nutty malts, zesty peels and sweet, ripe fruits in-mouth, and a finish of fruitiness, caramel and a return of leafy hoppiness. Light bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

500 ml bottle, from Birk Bryggeriutsalg, Klepp. ABV is 4.0%. Clear golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of citric and herbal hops, malts and grain too. The flavour is also citric and herbal, on a sufficient malt base. Bitter aftertaste. Not bad for 4.0% beer.

Clear golden pour with a small white head. Aromas of pine, citrus, malt, some flowers as well. Taste is citrus, hops, exotic fruits, herbs for a decent bitter finish. Not bad, especially given the lower ABV. Thumbs up for bein carbon neutral, too.

500ml bottle bought at Gulating Ølutsalg in Bodø. Close to clear warm golden body, persistent white head leaving spotty lacing on the glass. Inviting malt-fruity aromas, grass, ripe citrus, and pale malt. Well balanced taste character of ripe citrus, leafy hops, and bread-like malts. Soft ending with fair bitterness to it. Like it. (Bodø Panorama, 10.11.2023).
