Bottle at "Johnny's got a new place" beer celebration. Unclear dark orange to rusty red color, full sized rough off-white head. Aroma is a mix between sweet apricot and nectarines and oak, wood, horseblanket and funk. Flavor is lovely balanced, also between sweet fruit notes and tart grapepeel notes with oak coming through as well. Very nice.

Ratebeer Odense, November Tasting. Wild gusher. Cloudy golden with floaties. Bubbly white head. Funky aroma with apple peel, wood and a touch of red wine. Dry and tart fruity and funky flavour. Somewhat messy flavour with yeast and cellar notes.

Bottle. Color: Hazy pinkish red, lightly pink head. A lot of foam keeps streaming out of the bottle after opening. Aroma: Funky, vinuous. Taste: Moderate to over moderate tart, a lot of leathery funk, a bit moldy, fruity red grapes and green apple, a lot of tannins (grape skin, apple peel), vinuous, notes of oak wood. Medium body, average carbonation. Astringent very dry mouthfeel. Bone dry finish. Indeed a bit messy, unbalanced. Nice try but I was expecting more from this De Cam 'specialleke'.

Olin valmis, et plahvatab, aga ei olnud valmis, et ikka nii korralikult... Õlu on veits paberine, veinine, viinamarjane. 35st vms eurost minimaalselt pool lendas kööki.. ei saa normaalset hinnet anda sellise asja eest.

5/V/24 - 75cl bottle @ Toer de Geuze, BB: n/a (2024-301) Thanks to all for sharing today’s beers!
Cloudy light red beer, huge fluffy creamy white head, stable, non adhesive. Aroma: some chlorine, fruity, lots of grapes, juicy, nice! MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of grapes, pinot noir I guess, a little bitter, some tannins. Aftertaste: fruity, grapes, a little bitter, dry, spicy finish, nice one!

One of two recently released limited edition grape lambics by De Cam, this one using Pinot Noir grapes. Very violent gusher: after removing the muselet, I did not even get the chance to slowly pull out the cork, it just popped out by itself with a loud bang, after which a fountain of lambic spouted out. Not being fully prepared for this, I was unable to avoid losing about 1/4 of the bottle to the sink. Very loudly fizzing, initially inches thick, eggshell-white, densely moussey head, reducing and slowly breaking after a while but generally stable; hazy 'dirty' orange-glowing cognac coloured robe with fierce yet fine-bubbled fizz throughout - and dark, hard bits near the bottom of the glass which I can only identify as grape seeds; shifts to a murky, milky maroon-brown in the end. Aroma of sweet Pinot Noir grapes for sure, over a blanket of dry grape seeds and grape seed oil, wine gums, damp hay, unripe peach, blueberries, wet wood, dusty attic, something rubber- or gum-like, autumn leaves, old oxidized rosé wine or 'cremant rosé', crumbling dry earth, wild cranberries, bergamot, old dried lavender. Very fruity, juicy onset, tart with notes of purple gooseberry, unripe peach and cranberry but softened by the sweetness and fleshiness of the grapes, adding a 'moelleux' effect in a spritzy, rounded body; grape juice sweetness is soon accompanied by tannic grape skin and grape seed effects, assisting the lactic acid in drying a bready core, while these berry- and sour apple-like elements continue. Dry, tannic finish with woodiness but of course, much more prominently, these grape skin and seed tannins building up, yet even in the end everything remains softened by this fleshy, juicy, near-sweetish 'grapeyness'. Vinous, tannic yet juicy, rich tail with warming, dry sherry-like alcohol as well as some rubbery and 'dirty' effects here and there, along with typical De Cam funkiness: in spite of the explosive gushing, this is not bad at all, but it remains rather rough around the edges and lacks the finesse found in some of the greatest grape lambics out there. In any case very generous in the grape department with very vinous, almost dry rosé-like feel; with some finetuning, this certainly has the potential to become a very high-level grape lambic. In all: very good mostly due to its pronounced juiciness and fleshiness, but still with some imperfections here and there.
