On tap at DOK Ghent. Hazy amber colour lasting white head. Good smack of Nelson Sauvin on this. Never gets flabby or sweaty sox. Good crisp bitterness on the finish. Yep decent enough. Fine. Decent malts. Carries hops well. Some caramel sweetness.

New Zealand pale ale and one of Dok’s newest to date, from a can at Hal 16. Eggshell-white, thick and dense, stable head on a misty orange-glowing amber-blonde robe. Aroma a bit dank but focused, with notes of biscuit, dried orange peel, rusk, deep-fried parsley, lemon thyme, grapefruit zest, young wormwood, unsalted peanuts. Sleek, clean onset, moderately fruity with some dried persimmon and orange zest, medium in carbonation; smooth, biscuity and rusk-like malts, dryish, bittered by a quite complex, fascinating hop profile, yielding retronasal aromas of grapefruit zest, young southernwood, pink peppercorns and fresh lemon thyme, as well as a gentle but effective bitterness. Perfectly balanced with a colourful, entertaining New Zealand hop profile – exotic without being sultry and still refreshing. Very well made.
