The fifth one for our 8th wedding anniversary. Bottle 0.33l. True black. AROMA- apple, baked apple, cocoa, touch of caramel, a bit peated, calvados. FLAVOR- lightly sweet, slightly bitter, the same as aroma. Full bodied. Surprisingly good idea, apple and stout. It works greatly.

Bottle at home, black beer, small head, aroma is malt, roast, sweet, light apple, wood, alcohol, calvados, caramel, taste is the same, sweet, bitter, longer alcohol aftertaste. Nice

Interesting. Knowing it's apple it's fairly obvious, but otherwise might not have been able to recognize the flavor. Nondescript (stone?) fruit, coffee, dark chocolate, a bit of malty roastiness, smooth. Not bad.

Backlog rating. Nice, thick , rather intense stout ( pohjala are the masters for this style ) , showcasing apples, according to the label. Apples can indeed be recognized, but one has to know to taste them, i recon. Maybe because it's an unexpected addition, maybe because the stout flavor does quite overpower the apples?

Bottle at home, 5th September 19. Pours a black thick liquid. Aroma is roasted malts, liquor, barrel, light apple. Taste is smooth, barrel, roasted notes, liquor, apples, sweet, toffee apple. Delicious complex Imperial Stout

Bottle. Almost black. No head. Apple syrup and calvados in the aroma and flavor. Alcoholic, oak, just a bit thin and sweet. Interesting, but slightly disappointing.

Tap. Dark brown color with small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, coffee, apples. Taste roasted malt, coffee, some spices, apples. Too much alcohol.
