Bottle from The Hillside Brewery Shop, Longhope, Gloucestershire. Pours a hazy amber/brown colour with a medium sized creamy off-white head. Aromas of apples, pears, stoney fruits, caramel and some spice. Taste is more fruit, caramel and spice, quite boozy with a fairly intense bitter and leathery note on the finish. Full body and thick smooth chewy like mouthfeel. Quite impressed with this enjoying it.

Bottle from Oakchurch Farm Shop, near Hereford. Amber-brown with an off-white head. Full-bodied mouthfeel, but it’s a little chalky. Loads of fruit from the off and a little spice too. Unfortunately there’s also a strong mineral taste with bitterness following which doesn’t suit the style and rather ruined what could otherwise have been quite a tasty beer. Shame.
