Double Barrel Barleywine
We went all in on this one.
Starting with a double mash, no sparge, extended boil base before heading into an Old Fitzgerald barrel for primary fermentation. Allowing the activity of the fermentation to pick up the smooth tannins from the oak, enriching the body even further. After we extracted as much of the oak character we could from the first barrel, we then transferred into a freshly dumped Blanton's barrel for further aging. Resting quietly for 16 months, we found this oaky beast was finally ready. The amount of vanilla, caramel, and baking spice from the barrels combines with the base beer to create a Barleywine we've never seen before!
