0.355 l can from 'Beer Republic', 2023 vintage. Black with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Intensely sweetish-malty, quite roasty and a bit fruity aroma of praline, coffee, bourbon, vanilla, apple and some hazelnut. Fairly sweet, malty, quite roasty, slightly boozy and a bit fruity taste of praline, mocha, licorice, roasted hazelnut, bourbon, vanilla, some apple and light oak, followed by a long, quite roasty-bitter, slightly warming, minimally woody finish. Full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Delicious brew, as always, an absolute no-brainer. Sophisticated, great balance, superb mouthfeel. Benchmark stuff.

Bottle. Back beer with a light brown head. Bourbon and caramel aroma with light chocolate. Caramel and bourbon flavor with light vanilla and light chocolate. Medium bodied. Coffee and oak linger with bourbon and light chocolate.

Bottle at ash's. Pours black, nose is chocolate, vanilla, coconut, a little soapy, taste is sweet toffee, chocolate, coconut, vanilla, burnt coffee, roasted.

Bottle thanks to Stuu666. Appearance - deep brown to black. Tan head. Nose - caramel and sweet milk chocolate. Liquorice and wood edge. Taste - charred wood, caramel, burnt toffee, sweet chocolate and still liquorice. Palate - medium bodied, creamy and rich middle. Dry roasty finish. Overall - lovely and complex.

Panda, courtesy of SHIG, pours with a deep dark colored body that supports a tiny light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts and maybe even molasses drizzled dark roasted coffee moving into mild whiskey laced with thick ribbons of booze. The taste delivers an interesting array of notes. I get early hits of dark roasted malts and then an odd whiskey barrel character wrapped in booze. To midway reduced molasses like sugars flow toward the finish and instead of picking up steam, it picks up booze leaving you slightly warmer on the inside. Nice sipper.

Rich and barrely, raisin, rounded and tasty. Big body, sticky malts, good complexity, and drinks way too well for its size.
