A steam beer is a unique style that combines the crispness of a lager with the flavor of an ale. Northern Brewer hops give a hint of minty evergreen to expand on the caramel and toasted notes of the malts.

Can shared by Joes. Rusty light amber color, average sized off-white to beige head. Aroma and flavor are malts, lightly sweetish notes, caramel malts, distant caramelized sugars. Average body and fairly soft carbonation.

0.33 l can from 'Mr. Hop', best before October 2025. Hazy, deep amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly floral aroma of caramel, grains, straw, some honey and light nuts. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly floral taste of caramel, honey, nuts, some grains and light straw, followed by a short, moderately bitter finish. Medium to full body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice.

24/IV/25 - 33cl can from Mr. Hop (webshop) @ Peter’s 50th birthday party, Cabane Banane (Gent), BB: 18/X/25, #964 (2025-397) Thanks to Peter for sharing today’s beers!
Little cloudy orange beer, practically no head. Aroma: malty, gains, hay, some caramel. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very floral, soapy, a bit of a weird bitterness, spicy, sweet touch. Aftertaste: more sweetness, liquorice, some aniseed, malty, caramel, grains, meh.

Pours medium dark amber, small white head. Scent is crispy, toasty malts; very American resinous hoppy notes that are stronger than expected . Taste is quite bitter too, earthy and piny hops - over toasty malts. Quite fullbodied for a lager, crisp and balanced, tad sweet that builds up to quite a bit of sweetness in the aftertaste, sticky even. Toasty, bit caramel maltyness. Not bad, but i'm not blown away.

Can. Hazy brown wit beige head. Caramel, dry bread crust, quite fruity with blueberries and strawberry. The taste is weird, medium sweet but long lasting almost metallic bitter in a leafy and earthy way. Medium bodied. OK beer, but the bitterness is weird.

Can. A lightly hazy dark golden colored beer with a small off-white head. Quite malty aroma with bread notes and a light fruityness. Medium to full bodied and nicely carbonated, with a light bitterness. Too bready, malty flavor too I think, with some generic fruityness up front. Rather dull, although not that far off the style. 240928
