Bottle to snifter.
Appearance: dark brown with more of a black color in the center but subtle hues of dark mahogany near the edges then capped by a thin eggshell white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: dark berries, toffee notes, some woody/barrel sweetness, light tones of vanilla; light tones of milk chocolate and a touch of cognac
Flavor: pretty nice blend of the prior noted aromas to a good sweet barrel to berry-ish and vanilla toned quality; finishes with the dark berries and vanilla-sort of sweetness
Texture: medium bodied, this is a sipper; some smoothness and also some woody dryness to the tongue
Overall: I believe I had this one at the right time as I was surprised no barrel spice came out or maybe the brewer knew exactly what they were doing when to age this one. I don't know enough - I just know I'd definitely return to this.

Bottle at Monk's: pours dark brown with beige head. Aroma is cognac, dark fruitiness, booze, vanilla, molasses. Taste is sweetish, woody. Complex. Powerful.

330mL bottle. Pours very dark brown with tan head. Aroma has a lot of dry barrels, some malts; a bit more spices as it warms up. Flavour has dry wood, stale bread, ghosts of dried berries. Some alcohol on the finish; not getting much cognac specifically. Surprisingly weak and woody.

330mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is fairly boozy, with lots of cognac barrels, toffee, and bready malt. Flavour is a bit harsh and clumsy, with lots of cognac barrels, toffee, and a dark dried fruits. This isn't coming together as cohesively as hoped for. The malty depth isn't there, and the barrels can't rescue this.

Small bottle pours with a deep dark colored body that supports a full tight tan head of foam. The aroma offers up booze and then sherry like cognac notes as well as thin notes of wood, dates and a dash of chocolate. The taste delivers smooth chocolate infused brown sugar stewed plums and dates breathing into some boozy burn and supple sweet cognac notes. Into the finish is thins out a tad as the booziness ramps up and a bit of wood is revealed as the cognac resurfaces and takes this into the after taste. Tasty stuff.

330ml can, kindly shared by Finn. Steady, bubbly, fawn-coloured head leaving crocheted lacing on the glass, coal black body. Promising aromas of toasted malts, mid-sweet, nicely roasted. Well blended taste of brown, black malts , and dried fruits. Woody. Warming, lingering, malt driven end with a cognac bite. Well bodied. Good drinking. (Tromsø, 05.04.2024).

Bottle @ home. Clear, deep, dark amber body with really short living beige head. Aroma has dark, smooth roasted malt, some dry fruit and hint of coffee and chocolate. Strong alcohol/cognac aroma. Taste is sweet, dark malt, some dry fruit, chocolate and coffee, balanced bitterness and lots of alcohol. Fine body with sweet, warming alcoholic aftertaste. In principes way too boozy, but somehow still very nice.

Delt med Rune. Svart. Middels høyt mokkafarget tett skum som daler sakte. God konjakkaroma. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken røstet malt - med et underlag av konjakk.

Bottle shared by Sladkyna zla. Med-full body, perception is decreased by the barrels. Medium carbonation. Moderate woodiness and boozy cognac, moderate warmth, slightly unpleasant in its sharpness. Not so intense maltiness (relatively), med-high chocolate, light coffee. Not great, not terrible, okay boozer.
